If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine, Didos Al Dente in Zamalek, Cairo, offers a delightful culinary experience, though with a few caveats. The restaurant specializes in pasta dishes that many customers rave about. Reviewers like shrouk akram praise the flavorful pasta varieties, highlighting the generous portions and reasonable prices, suggesting that their pasta is the standout choice. Meanwhile, John Shenoda and esraa fathy appreciate individual pasta dishes like the shrimp pasta and lasagna, both of which received high marks for taste and preparation.
However, the restaurant's cozy space and popularity often lead to crowding, as noted by multiple reviewers. Many recommend visiting during quieter hours to fully enjoy your meal without the pressure of long waits or cramped seating. While some diners, such as Aya Magdy, found the pizza overrated, overall sentiment leans towards the pasta as a must-try. Despite mixed experiences regarding service and ambiance, one undeniable aspect shines through: the rich and satisfying flavors that make Didos Al Dente a solid choice for Italian food lovers willing to navigate the small space. If you’re looking for comforting Italian food, this restaurant deserves a visit, especially for its pasta offerings.

Reviews for Didos Al Dente
Review highlights
Based on 1,517 reviewsDidos Al Dente is widely recognized for its authentic and flavorful Italian dishes, particularly its pasta, which receives consistent praise for taste and quality. The restaurant offers generous portions at reasonable prices, making it popular among Italian cuisine enthusiasts. However, the venue’s small size frequently leads to crowding and long wait times, especially during peak hours, which can compromise the overall dining experience. Several reviewers noted the limited seating and the rushed atmosphere, suggesting it may not be ideal for large groups or leisurely meals. While the food remains the highlight, customer feedback indicates that service and space constraints are areas needing improvement to enhance comfort and satisfaction.
If you're into Italian cuisine I suggest this place as the Food was great and tasty , tried both the pizza and pasta and garlic bread , portions were ok. However the place is small and not suitable for groups as we had to wait a lot in order to get seated in a very small area . Service is meh as they serve and wait for you to leave to seat other people. So to conclude avoid this place if its a busy day , on a calm day its a must try
Nothing special to be honest and the place is giving claustrophobic vibes. You are in a hurry to order, to eat and to pay so you can breathe again. Shrimp whit sauce pasta is amazing, Carbonara is average and Al fungi is nice. Overall experience is ok, but won’t be coming back.
I definitely liked the place, it's really tiny and not suitable if you're a big group, however if you're into Italian cuisine you should give it a shot. I tried their pasta with shrimp and chicken, it was delicious and perfectly cooked, I had a lemonade on the side, was average nothing special about it, however if you're a lactose intolerant, let them know, cuz they add a splash of milk to it. Nice experience overall and the waiter was really nice and decent. -- On another visit I tried the ravioli pasta, it was average and the portion was really small, Lasagna was amazing -- On another visit I tried their Pizza, the four seasons, so I get to try everything pepperoni, quattro formagi, chicken and seafood. Wasn't up to par honestly, I expected much better especially with the consistency of the pasta dishes quality. I would definitely go back but for the pasta not the pizza.
the food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, and the pasta is definitely my favorite! we tried several different varieties and every single one was packed with flavor. the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. the only downside is that the place itself is quite small and gets really busy, so during rush hours there’s usually a waiting list.
the best Italian Pasta in town, very crowded but it worth the wait . pizza was overrated but with a reasonable price .
Cozy place, best Italian experience on zamalek . The food served with a great taste and very hot. The staff is very polite. I felt like i'm on a small restaurant in italy. Perfectoooooo Molte grazie
